This week I really want to talk about the misconception that going solar is going to solve your high utility bill problem, when in fact it’s more of a band aid. What do I mean by this? Well we need to look at your home with x-ray vision to truly understand why you don’t want to just go solar.
If your home was built before 2012 and hasn’t been renovated in recent years to meet the new building standards then your home is probably inefficient. How inefficient? Well it depends. The easiest way to find this out is to perform a basic energy audit, or an advance energy audit if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty but an advance energy audit does cost a few hundred dollars depending on the size of your home. Whereas a basic energy audit, like the one we provide, is free and does a good job of assessing your home by asking some pretty straightforward questions.
